Interview Of

Armin Vit

Co-Founder, UnderConsideration.

The Lifestyle Questionnaire.

What time do you wake up?

4:30am on Tuesdays and Fridays (to play basketball at 6:30). Five O’clock the rest of the weekdays. Whatever time the first of my two daughters wakes up on the weekends. Usually 6:30 or 7:00.

What is the first thing you do when you start work?

Check e-mails.

How much time do you take for lunch, and what do you eat?

About 30 minutes. I work from home, so it’s whatever is available in the fridge and pantry. Quesedillas, sandwiches, salads, egg-in-the-oven concoctions, and my wife and business partner has started making these really nice quinoa concoctions.

How do you deal with stressful periods? How do you get through them?

I stress. I don’t try to hide it or supplant it. It’s like pain. You can’t really deal with pain. If it hurts, it just hurts. I deal with it and move on. Also: I used to tend to overeat. Now I over-run, or elbow someone at basketball.

What do you do when your body is screaming for a nap but time is lacking?

Two-thirty pm. It always hits me. Especially during the summer where in Texas even with AC on, you can feel the oppression of the heat bearing down on your lunch.

What is usually the peak of pleasure in your day, and what do you dislike the most about a typical day in your life?

I should say that it is waking up with my daughters, but that’s too corny. The best moment is when I get back from running, about 8:30 am, I have breakfast, and I start working. I’m all endorphined out from running so I have big time energy to start working. The moment I hate the most is 9:00 pm because I have to choose between relaxing and maybe watching some TV or going back to work. I tend to go back to work.

How do you fill your leisure time?

Caring for my daughters. There is no such thing as “leisure” time when you have kids and run your own business. Sleeping is leisure.

What time do you usually go to bed?

10:30pm.
